TOKYO — Hiroyuki Sanada (“The Last Samurai,” “Rush Hour 3”) is set to star in the noir-crime drama “Fallen Moon,” the tale of a New York City detective investigating the murder of his long-alienated daughter. Peter Medak (“The Krays,” “Romeo Is Bleeding”) is directing the feature. Geoff Tate, lead vocalist of the legendary rock band Queensrÿche, has signed on to compose the film score.
Sanada, star of the acclaimed Oscar nominated film, “Tasogare Seibei” (aka “The Twilight Samurai”), is slated to play Moto, a Japanese-born detective in the NYPD whose daughter is brutally murdered, sparking a chain of life-changing events. Through a series of entwined story lines, Moto comes face-to-face with the world that stole his daughter from him.
