Surfing the net for valuable info is pretty hard. But in the end, It doesn't really matter once you came up with a 'real' valuable info. Many fans wondered how Carl Rinch (director of 47 Ronin) picked Jin. Well....here is the story.
I found one one of the sites the following news...
He (Jin) participated in an audition in Hollywood, where he showed extraordinary passion for the role through his sword fighting and horse riding training. Rinch heaped on the praise, stating that Akanishi is the only one who could play Chikara.

I must say! I've always admired any passion coming out of Jin ;). Good luck to that young man! :)
Makes me so proud
Yep!
He is determine and ambitious! Way to go Jin ;)
I remember a comment the renowed film director said about Jin:
“After we watched his video clips, I was very shocked. I didn’t expect such an actor in Japan.
However we do have some occasionally, such as Kimura Takuya and Tadanobu Asano.
All of a sudden they come to your face and surprise the world.
This kind of person doesn’t need to brew slowly, but are more a bomb you feel like it’s either going to explode or disappear.[…]
His personality already makes people think of him as an animal who cannot be caged, and everybody can totally feel this unique personality in the story as well. ”
I wish Jin the best...
YAY i am happy for jinny!!
